Parson’s Pickles Pickled Mussels Recall Overview:

  • Who: Parson’s Pickles has recalled some of its products.
  • Why: Glass fragments were found in some jars of the pickled mussels.
  • Where: The recalled Parson’s Pickles Pickled Mussels were sold only in UK B&M stores.

The UK Food Standards Agency reported last week that Parson’s Pickles is recalling some of its pickled mussels products after glass fragments were found in some jars of the product.

The Parson’s Pickles recall affects 155g size pickled mussels in glass jars from Batch 38V (supplied to B&M stores) from lot number 327 and a best-before date of November 2024.

According to the FSA food alert, the Parson’s Pickles recall only affects pickled mussels products sold in UK B&M stores.

The presence of glass fragments in the Parson’s Pickles Pickled Mussels makes the product unsafe to eat, the FSA said in the food alert posted on 24 March.

If you have purchased Parson’s Pickles Pickled Mussels, check the products to see if they are from Batch 38V with a best before date of November 2024. This information can be found printed near the bottom of the glass jar.

Consumers who purchased the recalled pickled mussels should not eat them. Instead, they can return the jar to the B&M store from which it was purchased for a full refund. No receipt is needed to obtain a refund.

Parson’s Pickled Mussels Receive FSA Food Alert for Action

The UK Food Standards Agency issues notices when there are issues with food products that makes them unsafe for consumers. In some cases, the products may be withdrawn from the shelves. In the case of recalled products, consumers are asked to return the product.

When companies withdraw or recall products, the FSA will issue notices to inform consumers about the issue. The FSA says it issues a ‘Food Alert for Action’ to provide local authorities with information about the steps to be taken on behalf of consumers who may have purchased food products that are unsafe to eat.
