A number of products have been recalled in the U.K. due to concerns about consumer safety.

Check your pantry to see if you have any of these items in your home.

Nestlé Issues Urgent Recall of Contaminated Espresso Lattes

Nestlé is urgently warning consumers not to drink its recalled beverage after the company discovered some of its espresso latte beverages could reportedly be contaminated with a cleaning solution.

The affected product is Lactalis Nestlé Chilled Dairy UK’s Nescafé Shakissimo Espresso Latte 190ml.

An alert about the product reports the drinks have “been contaminated with cleaning solution containing hydrogen peroxide which may make the product unsafe to drink.”

The lattes have a use-by date of 26 Jan., 2021.

According to express, the contaminated drinks may have a bad taste and could cause a “tingling sensation” if drunk by consumers.

Those who find they have this item in their home are advised to dispose of the contents and return the product to the store where they bought it for a full refund, or return the top of the pot lid that shows the relevant use-by date for a full refund.

Keylink Chocolate-Covered Coffee Beans Recalled Over Allergens 

Several varieties of Keylink chocolate-covered roasted coffee beans have been recalled because the products contain almonds, an ingredient not mentioned on the label.

The omission of the ingredient on the label means the coffee beans are a potential health risk to anyone with a nut or almond allergy.

The roasted chocolate-covered coffee beans were sold either as prepackaged, loose or as ingredients in other products.

According to the allergy alert, the coffee beans were sold at a number of retailers.

Consumers with questions should contact the relevant retailer where the product was purchased.

Tesco 16 Spicy Chorizo Slices Contaminated With Listeria

Tesco has recalled some packages of chorizo over concerns that the product is reportedly contaminated with listeria monocytogenes.

The product affected by the recall is Tesco’s 16 Spicy Chorizo Slices in the 80g packages with a use-by date of 19 Dec., 2020.

Listeria infection symptoms are similar to those of flu: fever, muscle aches and pains, chills, nausea and diarrhea.

Those most vulnerable to listeria infection are those over 65, pregnant women and unborn babies, babies under 1 month old, and people who have weakened immune systems.

Tesco has apologised for any inconvenience caused by the recall.

Happy Hounds Dog Food Recalled Over Salmonella Concerns 

As a precautionary measure, Happy Hounds Wales Ltd. has recalled several raw dog food products because of potential salmonella contamination.

The following Happy Hounds products are affected:

  • Frozen Beef Kidney; 1kg pack size, with a batch code of 962 and a best-before date of 26 Oct., 2021
  • Frozen Whole Heart; individual items, with a batch code of 962 and a best-before date of 26 Oct., 2021
  • Frozen Chicken and Beef Sleeve; 1kg pack size with batch codes of 1344 and 962 and best-before dates of 2 Nov., 2021
  • Frozen Lamb and Beef Sleeve; 1kg pack size with batch codes of 962-966 and a best-before date of 4 Nov., 2021
  • Frozen Diced Heart; 1.5kg pack size with a batch code of 962 and a best-before date of 26 Oct., 2021

Salmonella can cause illness in both animals and humans.

According to the recall notice, the above products could carry the risk for illness either through direct handling of the food or contact with pet food bowls, utensils or animal feces.

Salmonella infection symptoms in humans include fever, diarrhea and abdominal cramping.

Animals may have diarrhea due to salmonella infection, but sometimes do not show any signs of illness.

Consumers who purchased any of the affected products are urged to not use them and to return them to the store where they were purchased to receive a full refund.

Asda Recalls Vegan Potato Skins Due to Allergens 

Asda has recalled some of its vegan Plant Based Loaded Potato Skins after it was discovered they may contain milk, the Mirror reported.

The affected batch is the 262g package size with a use-by date of 12 Nov. 2020.

The product is a possible health risk for anyone with a milk or milk constituent allergy or intolerance.

Consumers who still have this product in their home may return the product to the store for a full refund.
