Layโ€™s recall overview:

  • Who: ASR Solutions Ltd is recalling its Lay’s Sour Cream & Dill Crisps.
  • Why: The crisps contain milk and wheat (gluten), which are not declared on the packaging.
  • Where: The recall is effective in the United Kingdom.

ASR Solutions is recalling its Lay’s Sour Cream & Dill Crisps due to undeclared allergens. The crisps, sold in Home Bargain stores, contain milk and wheat (gluten), posing a health risk to individuals with allergies or intolerances to these ingredients.

The recall allergy alert was issued on July 31 and applies to all 125g packs of Lay’s Sour Cream & Dill Crisps with best-before dates up to and including Oct. 31, 2026.

According to the Lay’s recall notice, the undeclared milk and gluten poses a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk products, wheat or gluten, or with coeliac disease.

Consumers can return affected products for a refund

Customers who have purchased the affected Lay’s Sour Cream & Dill crisps are urged not to consume them. Instead, they should return the product to the store for a full refund or contact [email protected] if they require further information.

ASR Solutions has also reached out to relevant allergy support organisations to inform their members about the recall and has issued a customer notice explaining the situation.

There have been no reports of illness related to the recall so far. The company is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.

Meanwhile, Capri Sun UK issued a recall for certain Capri-Sun Orange 10 packs sold in Northern Ireland after some cartons labelled as Capri-Sun Orange Zero contained the regular full sugar version.
