Tiny pieces of plastic were found inย Morrisonsย Chocolate Cereal, prompting a recall of the product on April 3.ย ย
The UK Food Safety Agency (FSA) is encouraging consumers who purchased the 375 g version of Morrisonsย Choco Crackles not to eat the cereal. Recalled products have a Best Before End date of November 2021, according to the FSA notice.ย ย
The recalledย Morrisons Chocolate Cereal was sold for 79p each at Morrisons. Consumers can return the recalled cereal to the shop for a refund. No receipt is required. ย
“Weย apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and assure customers of our continuing commitment to the highest standard of product quality and safetyโ, says the company in its recall statement. ย
The Food Standards Agency said point of sale notices would also be displayed in all retail stores selling the product.ย
โIf there is a problem with a food product that means it should not be sold, then it might be ‘withdrawn’ (taken off the shelves) or ‘recalled’ (when customers are asked to return the product)โ, states the agencyโs notice about theย Morrisonsย Chocolate Cereal Recall. โThe FSA issues Product Withdrawal Information Notices and Product Recall Information Notices to let consumers and local authorities know about problems associated with food.โย
