Recall Alert: Plastic Found in Harvest Morn Crisp Rice Breakfast Cereal

Aldi is recalling Harvest Morn Crisp Rice breakfast cereals in England, Wales, and Scotland after bits of plastic were discovered.ย ย

The recalled cereal was sold in 375 g packs with a best before date of November 2021 and batch codes ofย 10470953, 10480953, 10490953, according to aย noticeย issued on 7 April 2021 by the Food Standards Agency (FSA). Customers are instructed to return the recalled Harvest Morn Crisp Rice packets to the shop.ย ย

“If you have bought the above product do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund,โ€ says the FSA.ย

In addition, recall notices will be posted at shopsโ€™ point ofย saleโ€ explainingย to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.โ€ย

โ€œIf there is a problem with a food product that means it should not be sold, then it might be โ€˜withdrawnโ€™ (taken off the shelves) or โ€˜recalledโ€™ (when customers are asked to return the product)โ€, continues the FSA notice about the Harvest Morn Crip Rice recall. โ€œThe FSA issues Product Withdrawal Information Notices and Product Recall Information Notices to let consumers and local authorities know about problems associated with food.โ€ย

Cereal and Other Recent Food Recallsย

The Harvest Morn Crip Rice recall joins another breakfast cereal yanked from UK shelves last week after pieces of plastic were discovered. Indeed, tiny pieces of plastic were found inย Morrisons Chocolate Cereal, prompting a recall notice by the FSA.ย ย

Nestle alsoย recalled baby formulaย productsย earlier this month after the discovery of pieces of plastic that babies could choke on. The plastic reportedly came from the scoops used to dispense the product.ย

Plastic is not the only contaminate that has prompted a recall. Last week, three popularย baby foods were urgently recalled over concerns about apple stalks.ย The recalled products includedย Aptamilย Oats, Raisin & Apple Bircher Muesli 10+ months in the 275-gram size andย Aptamilย Multigrain & Fruit Muesli 10+ months, also in the 275-gram size.ย
