The recall, announced on April 30, involves 290g pack-sized fishcakes with use-by dates ranging from May 1 to 5, 2026.

The presence of foreign objects, such as plastic or metal, in the product makes it unsafe for consumption, according to the recall notice.

“This product may contain pieces of plastic or metal, which makes the product unsafe to eat,” the ASDA recall says.

ASDA has taken steps to inform customers by displaying point-of-sale notices in all stores where the product is sold, explaining the recall and advising on the next steps.

Consumers advised to return Beer Battered Cod Fishcakes for refund

The ASDA recall notice urges consumers who have purchased the affected Beer Battered Cod Fishcakes not to consume them. Instead, consumers should return the product to the nearest ASDA store for a full refund.
