The company says point-of-sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling the raw pastry products and that the notices will explain to customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought any of the products.
“If you have bought any of the above products do not eat them. Instead, return them to the store from where they were bought for a full refund,” BakeAway urged in the recall notice.
It added that symptoms caused by salmonella typically include fever, diarrhea and abdominal cramps.
In August, a range of pork scratchings were recalled in the UK amid a Salmonella outbreak that sickened almost 180 people over the course of the year. The UK Food Standards Agency issued an alert advising consumers not to eat several pork scratching products made by Tayto Group Ltd, which have been linked to salmonella poisoning. The affected brands include some Mr Porky, Jay’s and The Real Pork Crackling Company products with an expiration date of Feb. 2022.
