Quorn Foods and Sainsbury Recall Overview:

  • Who: Quorn Foods and Sainsbury.
  • Why: Quorn Foods and Sainsbury issued allergen-related recalls last week for their Vegetarian Turkey and Stuffing Slices and On the Go Spicy Chicken Pasta, respectively.
  • Where: The Sainsbury recall was specific to England, Wales, and Scotland. The Quorn Foods recall is across the entire United Kingdom.

Quorn Foods and Sainsbury issued recalls last week after both companies found errors with pertinent allergy information on their products packaging.

The items in question were Chilled Quorn Vegetarian Turkey and Stuffing Slices 170g and Sainsbury On the Go Spicy Chicken Pasta 275g.

Sainsbury Pasta Recalled

Sainsbury recalled the product on Aug. 25 in England, Wales, and Scotland, since there was no mention on its label that it contained milk. A packaging error led to some of the company’s On the Go Spicy Chicken Pasta 275g products to contain cheese and tomato pasta instead of spicy chicken pasta.

The On the Go Spicy Chicken Pasta in question has a use-by-date of Aug. 30, 2021. The company is asking customers with a milk allergy who bought the item to not eat it and return it to any Sainsbury location to receive a full refund.

Customers with questions, concerns, or who are unable to return the product can contact the company online or by phone at 0800 636262.

Quorn Foods Vegetarian Turkey Recalled

Quorn Foods, meanwhile, recalled its Vegetarian Turkey and Stuffing Slices 170g on Aug. 26 after finding the product was incorrectly labeled as being gluten free, despite containing wheat.

The company advised anyone with a gluten intolerance or coeliac disease to not consume the product and bring it back to the store for a full refund.

Alda, Asda, Morrisons, and Ocada issued allergen-related recalls last month for Organic Mama, Eat Real, and other “healthy” snacks after discovering the products contained unlabeled allergens such as peanuts and gluten
