Morrisons Recalls its 6-Pack of Iced Buns Due to Milk Not Being Emphasised on the Label

Sweet toothed people with milk allergies beware! Morrisons is recalling its 6 Iced Buns which contain milk, but do not have the ingredient listed in bold type on the label.

The lack of emphasis on the ingredient poses a health risk to anyone that has an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents, the recall notice says.

Although Morrisons does not currently face any legal action from this recall, Top Class Actions will continue to monitor this and other food safety recalls in the interest of consumer protection.

The store is urging anyone who bought the iced buns and has an allergy or intolerance to milk not to eat them. “Instead return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.”

The recall affects products with all dates.

Food products are often subject to recalls for undeclared milk ingredients. Recently in the United States, Frito-Lay had to recall its Ruffles all dressed flavoured potato chips due to the chips possibly containing milk that was not disclosed on the packaging.

Morrisons has also recently had to issue a separate recall of its Morrisons Chocolate Cereal after tiny pieces of plastic were found in it.

In its recall statement, Morrisons apologised for the inconvenience to customers, and said it wanted to “assure customers of our continuing commitment to the highest standard of product quality and safety.”
