Argo has issued an urgent Cuggl high chair recall after a defect was found that could cause children to fall out of the chair.
If you have an Argo Cuggl high chair or know someone who does, be aware that the manufacturer has warned to stop using the high chair immediately, according to Which.
The Argos Cuggl high chair recall includes the following models:
- Cuggl Little Sheep Deluxe, with a catalogue number of 819/5584
- Cuggl Plum Deluxe, with a catalogue number of 759/3187
- Cuggl Pumpkin Deluxe, with a catalogue number of 707/8956
After safety testing showed babies can fall from the seat, Argos issued the Cuggl high chair recall and has taken these chairs off its website.
The defect can cause the back of the chair to fail, leaving a child without support and causing falls.
It is not known how long the recalled Cuggl high chairs were sold. Argos has not said whether it has received reports of any falls from the recalled high chairs, according to The Sun.
In January 2019, Which tested the Argos Cuggl Little Sheep Deluxe high chair but has now placed a recall message on its review. The consumer watchdog also made the Cuggl high chairs a “Don’t Buy” to dissuade parents from purchasing a secondhand chair.
Argo says parents who own one of the three child seats involved in the Cuggl high chair recall should not continue to use it.
Parents can return Cuggl high chairs to any Argos store for a full refund. The Cuggl high chairs cost around £39.99. Consumers will not need a receipt to prove their purchase.
Consumers who purchased recalled chairs online should be getting an email notifying them about the Cuggl high chair recall, according to Which.
“The safety of our customers is our highest priority, please be assured that no other highchair is affected by this issue,” Argos said regarding the Cuggl high chair recall:
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this issue.”

This is not the first time a Cuggl high chair recall has occurred.
In 2019, Argos recalled its Cuggl Mushroom high chair, with category number 7094143.
Argos warned parents to stop using the Cuggl Mushroom high chair right away after safety testing found that if children leaned sideways, the high chair could fall over.
The 2019 Cuggl high chair recall removed the chairs from sale in stores and online.
Parents should be aware that although the high chairs are recalled, people may be selling them secondhand on third-party websites such as Amazon or eBay.
