ALDI Adventuridge Baby Carrier Recall Overview:
- Who: Global supermarket chain ALDI is recalling a baby carrier.
- Why: The Adventuridge Hiking Baby Carrier is being recalled because a component can fail on a number of the carriers.
- Where: The recall was issued by ALDI UK and ALDI Ireland.
Supermarket giant ALDI is recalling all of its Adventuridge hiking baby carriers, and telling parents to stop using the product “immediately.”
In a recall notice posted to the ALDI UK website Nov. 8, the chain said it was recalling the baby backpack due an issue in a number of the carriers.
It said its supplier had identified that a component may fail on a “small number” of the carriers, the recall says.
“Customers are asked to stop using this product immediately and return it to the nearest store where a full refund will be given.”
ALDI Baby Carrier Recall Scant On Details
The company is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes end in class action lawsuits.
The recall did not say how many of the items were being recalled, or whether there had been any injuries to babies or parents so far. It did not specify the exact issue that had been discovered with the backpack.
ALDI is a global supermarket behemoth with more than 10,000 stores in 20 different countries.
In 2020, angry mums took to social media to claim ALDI nappies had changed for the worse, saying they are smaller and their absorbency has diminished, forcing the brand to admit its nappies had changed.
Meanwhile, this recall follows another issued by ALDI earlier this year, which revealed that bits of plastic were discovered in its Harvest Morn Crisp Rice breakfast cereals in England, Wales, and Scotland.
