Yoplait UK is recalling its Frubes Strawberry, Red Berry, and Peach Variety Packs after small pieces of metal were found in a peach-flavoured Frube.

In a recall notice posted by the Food Standards Agency, Yoplait says the Frubes are “unsafe to eat” because of the risk of metal contamination and is urging consumers who have bought the product not to eat it.

“Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund,” the recall says.

The frozen yoghurt snacks come in a pack of nine, and each Frube is 37 grams, the notice says. The batch code of the affected products is 9218195 and the use-by date is Feb. 9, 2022.

Yoplait says only products with a ‘C’ after the use-by date are affected and displayed as “09 Feb C” on the packaging.

Yoplait Takes Food Safety ‘Extremely Seriously,’ According To Recall Announcement

Yoplait says that point-of-sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that sell the Frubes, and the notices will explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.

In the recall announcement, Yoplait says that customer safety is paramount to the company, and that it takes the safety and production of its food “extremely seriously.”

“We are very sorry for any impact or inconvenience this may cause,” the company said in the recall notice.

In the U.S., a number of U.S. companies had to issue recalls for food products in 2021 due to the possibility of metal fragment contamination. The contamination was reportedly occurring during the product manufacturing process.

The metal fragment contamination affected products such as blueberries, cupcakes and Kool-Aid, among others.
