Lidl Northern Ireland is recalling Culinea Paella because its cooking instructions are not written in English, making it a possible health risk if it is not cooked correctly.

According to a recall notice posted by the Food Standards Agency, Lidl says the 750-gram packs of paella, which contain a range of seafoods, could cause illness if they are consumed after not being thoroughly cooked.

Ludl Customers Can Return Paella for Full Refund

The recalled paella packages have a batch code of L1354-2 and a best-before date of 20 June 2023. Lidl is urging consumers not eat the recalled paella, and instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.

The company will display point-of-sale notices in all retail stores, which will explain to customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.

Just a few days ago, Lidl GB had to recall Alesto Californian Pistachios Roasted & Salted because they may have been contaminated with salmonella. The products affected by the Lidl recall include 200g packs of Alesto Californian Pistachios Roasted & Salted with batch code LP200N22004 and a best-before date of 4 Oct. 2022 printed on the package, according to a food alert posted by the Food Standards Agency.

In late 2021, Lidl Ireland and Northern Ireland had to recall certain Deluxe Stuffed Dates products for the same issue of possible salmonella contamination. In the recall notice, the company said Salmonella symptoms may include fever, abdominal cramps and diarrhea.

In both recalls, the company offered a free refund on return of the products.
