Lidl Ireland and Northern Ireland are recalling certain Deluxe Stuffed Dates products due to the presence of salmonella. Salmonella symptoms may include fever, abdominal cramps and diarrhea.
The products affected by the Lidl recall include Deluxe Stuffed Dates 240g with a best before date of 21 January 2022. The batch code for the affected products is 21301/196, according to the product recall information notice issued 30 November by the Food Standards Agency. No other Lidl Deluxe products are reportedly affected by the recall.
Lidl advises customers not to eat the affected Deluxe Stuffed Dates products. If you purchased any of the affected products, you can return it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund. According to the Lidl recall notice, a receipt is not required for a refund.
What Steps is Lidl Taking to Notify Customers About the Recall?
In addition to providing full refunds to consumers who return the recalled Deluxe Stuffed Dates products to the store from which it was purchased, Lidl is also placing notices in all retail stores that sell the product. The notices inform customers about the reasons behind the Lidl recall and what they should do if they purchased the recalled dates.
Lidl says that customers with queries or concerns may contact Customer Services on 0370 444 1234. The company also “wishes to apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
