The Little Green Sheep Baby Gym Charm Recall Overview:

  • Who: Baby product manufacturer The Little Green Sheep has recalled three of the charms sold for its baby gyms.
  • Why: The company’s testing found that the wooden rings on the charms could break into small pieces, causing a choking hazard to children.
  • Where: The recall is effective in the United Kingdom.

Baby product manufacturer The Little Green Sheep has recalled three of the charms sold for its curved and A-frame baby gyms due to a choking hazard posed by the wooden rings on the charms.

In a recall notice posted to its website, The Little Green Sheep says it is recalling the Knitted Bear rattle, Knitted Bunny rattle and Bunny Ear charms, which are all designed to hang from its baby gym frames, after “use and abuse” testing found the wooden rings in the charms could break into small pieces.

“The safety of our customers and products is our primary concern and whilst we are reassured that these items have passed all testing previously, and we have not received any reports of damage or breakage in use, we have taken the decision to voluntarily recall these charms from customers as a precaution,” the company writes.

The charms were sold on the company website and through John Lewis, Mamas & Papas, Amazon and Pramworld, Which reports.

Consumers Urged To Throw Away Charms Immediately

The Little Green Sheep is urging customers with the charms to stop using them immediately and remove them from their baby gym frames or other items they may be attached to. Customers can fill out a form on the company’s website to register for replacement charms.

The company adds that its remaining soft animal charms, wooden charms and crochet charms can continue to be used with the baby gym frames and meet all relevant safety requirements.

“We would like to apologise to customers for any inconvenience or disappointment caused,” the company says in the recall notice.

Children’s products are often the subject of safety recalls. This month, around 3,500 multicolored children’s robes sold on Amazon were recalled due to posing a risk of burn injuries to children.

In a recall notice posted by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, HulovoX, the company that makes the micro polyester robes, says that the clothing fails to meet federal flammability standards.
