Jus Rol is recalling four of its frozen pastry products due to possible salmonella contamination just days after BakeAway recalled numerous frozen pastry products for the same reason.
Jus Rol says in the recall notice that it is holding the recall as a precautionary measure, and it is urging customers to throw out the affected products and contact the company for a full refund.
The recalled products are:
- Jus Rol Frozen Shortcrust Block, 6 x 1000g, Best Before Date Sept. 23, 361
- Jus Rol Chilled Puff Block, 8 x 500, Best Before Date Jan. 31
- Jus Rol Frozen Ready Rolled puff pastry, 6 x 640g, Best Before Date Jul 23, 362
- Jus Rol Frozen Shortcrust Block, 6 x 500g, Best Before Date Sept. 23, 362
The recall notice adds that symptoms caused by salmonella typically include fever, diarrhea and abdominal cramps.
Earlier this week, BakeAway issued a recall of 16 of its raw pastry products, including Aldi and Tesco Ready Roll Pizza Dough, after salmonella was discovered in the products.
The company said in the recall notice that point-of-sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling the raw pastry products and that the notices will explain to customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought any of the products.
In August, a range of pork scratchings were recalled in the UK amid a Salmonella outbreak that sickened almost 180 people over the course of the year. The UK Food Standards Agency issued an alert advising consumers not to eat several pork scratching products made by Tayto Group Ltd that have been linked to salmonella poisoning. The affected brands include some Mr Porky, Jay’s and The Real Pork Crackling Company products with an expiration date of Feb. 2022.
