IKEA UK is recalling its frozen IKEA Huvudroll Vegetable Balls after some packs were found to contain pieces of plastic.

In a recall notice, the company says a broken production line caused the plastic contamination in one isolated batch of Huvudroll Vegetable Balls. The affected vegetable balls are sold in a 1,000-gram pack and have a best-before date of Oct. 26, 2022.

IKEA urged consumers not to eat the balls and to return them to an IKEA store for a full refund, adding that proof of purchase was not required.

“The safety and quality of the food we offer is our number one priority. We want to offer our customers products they can trust, that are produced in a responsible way, without making any compromises on food safety and quality,” the company says on its website. “We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”
