Moser Roth The Collection Milk, White and Dark Chocolates Recall Overview:

  • Who: Aldi is recalling Moser Roth The Collection Milk, White and Dark Chocolates.
  • Why: The supermarket giant is recalling the product as it contains undisclosed egg, which could be a health hazard to those with egg allergies or intolerance.
  • Where: The recall is effective in the United Kingdom.

Packs of white, milk and dark chocolates sold at Aldi are being recalled due to containing undeclared egg.

According to a recall notice posted by the Food Standards Agency (FSA), 160 gram boxes of Moser Roth The Collection Milk, White and Dark Chocolates contain the undisclosed ingredient, posing a “possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to egg.”

The company is asking anyone with an allergy or intolerance to egg not to eat the chocolates and to instead return the box to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.

The FSA says Aldi has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which in turn will tell their members about the recall.

Aldi Apologises For Inconvenience, Thanks Consumers For Cooperation

The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers that explains why the product is being recalled and what to do if they have bought the chocolates.

In the notice, Aldi apologises for any inconveniences caused by the recall and thanks consumers for their cooperation.

The Moser Roth chocolates aren’t the only product currently being recalled for not disclosing key ingredients. Recently, Welsh Chunky Piccalilli was pulled from the shelves by its producer after it was found to contain undeclared mustard, making it a health hazard to anyone with a mustard allergy. The piccalilli in question is marked with a label saying it is mustard-free.

Aldi is also currently recalling its Ready Roll Pizza dough product, manufactured by BakeAway, after salmonella was found in some of BakeAway’s frozen dough products.
